Present Perfect Progressive ..

How do we form the Present Perfect Progressive?

We form the Present Perfect Progressive with havebeen and the verb with the ending -ing.

have/has + been + infinitive + -ing

has  3rd person singular (he, she, it)
have 
all other forms

Action:

1- ACTIONS THAT STARTED IN THE PAST AND CONTINUE IN THE PRESENT.

2- ACTIONS THAT HAVE JUST FINISHED, BUT WE ARE INTERESTED IN THE RESULTS IN THE PRESENT. 

Time Expressions: 

            For, Since, How long, All day, All month, All week, etc.

Present Perfect Simple ... (S + Have oR Has + V3)

Used of

Exercising is a good way of keeping fit .

1- As a noun

We often go fishing in the summer .

2-After the verb go indicating physical activities.

 

Muhammad suggests going to the museum .

3- After certain verbs: avoid, enjoy, finish, like, love, hate, imagine, keep, risk, spend (time), suggest, consider, etc.

 

It's no use trying to do everything yourself .

4- After certain expressions : be interested in , can't stand , don't mind , how about , it's worth , it's no use , it's no good , there's no point (in) be used to , etc .

I'm no excited about going to university next year

5- After prepositions : for , about , without ,

Not exercising is a sure way to gain weight.

6-Write  negative (not) before Gerund

Getting in a shape takes time and effort .

7- Take a singular verb ( writes , takes, …)

 a- Sami is the oldest one in the class , I've ever seen .   

 b- Ali is the tallest of all the students, I've ever known .
