Communication

         Communication is very important. It helps us to share ideas. Babies communicate by imitating. Communication in the past was different. In the past people communicated orally. Today communication is easy. We use the TV, internet and the mobile. We send messages by mobile. New technology is very exciting. We can watch the news on TV. We can chat.

The internet

       The internet is very important. It is simple to use. There are two types of computers. They are servers and clients. Computers are linked by telephone system. We can use the internet to send e-mails. We can play games. We can download films. We can chat. We can listen to music. We shouldn't use the net for a long time. It is bad for eyes.

    Guided composition

Free Time

                    I enjoy my free time very much. I do many things in my free time. I like surfing the Internet to collect information. My weekend begins on Thursday after school. I visit my cousins to play games with them. On Friday, I go to the mosque with my father. Then, we visit my grandparents. On Thursday I watch TV. Then, I do my homework and pack my school bag.

Plants

          Plants are very important. Man and animals need plants to live. Plants give us food and shade. They make the air fresh and healthy. Plants need good soil, water and sunlight to live. Rainforests help us when we are ill. They are important for the environment. We should grow more trees and plants in the streets to decorate them. Green colour is so lovely. In spring the trees are very green.

Recycle

           Recycle means to collect and treat rubbish in order to produce useful materials. These materials can be used again. The Japanese recycle more than half their waste paper. You can recycle by taking your bottles and tins to a recycling centre. We can recycle plastic, glass, iron and paper. When we tidy up our home and we find a pile of newspapers, we shouldn’t burn them. We should put them aside for recycling.

Guided composition

Social Media Advantages and Disadvantages

          Social media has changed people's lives greatly. It has many advantages. First, social media helps us to communicate with people easily. Second, people get the latest news and information from it. Third, people share ideas and opinions on social media. Forth, people can raise money for charity on social media. People can use social media to make business.

          However, social media has some disadvantages. First, some people are addicted to social media. Second, some people confuse social media with reality. Third. Using social media can waste a lot of time. Fourth, social media can spread false information. Finally, social media makes some people lonely or fat. In my opinion, people should use social media wisely and avoid its downsides.

Usage	Form	Kinds

Time Expressions ..

Tomorrow , Tonight , next month , next year , next week , next Tuesday, etc . 1- 2- This month / This year / This week / This Tuesday , etc . 3- In an hour / year / soon , etc . 4- by +a point of time ( eg. Sunday ) , by the time , by then , before , etc .

Past simple

A / USE :

3/ together with the Past Progressive/Continuous .	2/ series of completed actions in the past	action finished in the past  1/
e.g.They were playing cards when the telephone rang.	e.g. First I got up, then I had breakfast	e.g. I visited Jeddah last week.

B / Signal words : ( time expression )

 1- yesterday, 2- last week,  3- ago, 4- in 2002 .

E/ Form :

- with regular verbs: infinitive + -ed

- with irregular verbs: 2nd column of the table of the irregular verbs

F / There are two kinds of sentences :

1-Affirmative sentences:

2-Negative sentences:

You must not negate a full verb in English. Always use the auxiliary did (Simple Past of to do) for negations.

Examples : ?- What were you doing at 9 o’clock last night  1/ I was having dinner . - While John was cooking, Leo was sleeping 2- My grandfather was writing a book in those days 3-	Usage : 1-To describe an action in progress at a certain time in the past . 2-To describe actions that were happening at the same time in the past .
